This policy explains what personal information StudyPIP collects, why, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and profile picture, from the sign-up form or from Google if you sign in with Google.
- Learning data: your answers, written responses, transcripts of your speaking answers, scores, feedback and progress. We do not keep your voice recordings: each recording is sent for automatic transcription and then deleted. Only the written transcript is saved.
- Purchase information: which pass you bought, when, the amount and your billing country and postal code (for tax). Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Technical information: basic logs such as IP address, browser type and error reports, used for security and to keep the Service working.
How we use it
- To provide your account, lessons, practice, feedback and progress tracking.
- To process payments, grant access passes, and meet tax and accounting obligations.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, including responding to payment disputes.
- To answer your questions and improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use advertising trackers.
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the Service. They process data on our behalf:
- Clerk — sign-in and account management
- Neon — database hosting
- Cloudflare — website hosting and security
- Stripe — payment processing (merchant of record for purchases)
- OpenAI — automated transcription and feedback on your writing and speaking
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
How long we keep it
We keep your learning data for as long as you have an account, so your progress is always available. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information, except purchase records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing support@studypip.com. You can also delete your account from your account settings.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to secure the Service. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you of any breach as required by law.
